There are actually several home education magazines published right here in Canada. We also list homeschooling e-zines, newsletters, blogs, radio shows, podcasts, and YouTube clips and channels. Most are for home school parents, but some are by and/or for homelearners.

We've also included some resources for alternative lifestyles that include homeschooling among their topics.

Note: A "blog" is a "web log" or online diary -- like a frequently updated webpage where you publish your thoughts and share information and links and such.

Published three times each year with new homeschool articles, activities, products and services. Available online in pdf format. Some of the info is specific to Calgary, but much is relevant to all Canadian home based learning families.

Homeschooling Horizons Magazine

Encouragement and practical ideas for the homeschooling parent. First distributed in Quebec in 1996, it went national in 2000 and now has readers from other countries as well. Published 10 times a year. You can receive a free sample copy to check it out.

Life Learning Magazine

Published 6 times a year by Wendy Priesnitz, author of Challenging Assumptions in Education and other books. Articles to inspire and provide information about self-directed learning and natural parenting.

The Old Schoolhouse Magazine

Practical Homeschooling Magazine

Published in the U.S. by Mary Pride. 5 issues a year. The website includes over 700 free articles as well as forums and a curriculum directory.

Radio Free School

RADIO FREE SCHOOL is an all volunteer show by, for, and about Unschoolers/Home Learners.
