Here's a word that came up when I asked you to send me a drawing for these pages: logo.
A logo is a design that's used to represent a company or organization. It's often a picture but it can also be just the name or initials of the company, written in a fancy way -- in other words, the letters are turned into a design.
Logos are made that way because pictures are easy to recognize quickly (so you can tell one brand from another -- for example, Pepsi and Coke) and they also make a product or page more interesting to look at, like an illustration.
(When you think about it, flags are kind of like logos for countries!)
A person's vocabulary is all the words they know and use. You have a big vocabulary when you know lots of words. You expand your vocabulary when you learn new words.
