Events for homeschoolers in Ontario include field trips for the kids and conferences for the parents. Some are organized by the Ontario Federation of Teaching Parents, but we've also included information about events organized by other homeschooling groups and individual home educators, as well as other types of events and activities that are not specifically for homeschoolers but may be of interest to homelearners or teaching parents.

Field trips and festivals

You can get together with other homeschooling families for field trips and other outings for the kids. Join the Home School Ontario Trips list to find out what's happening in your area, sign up for a field trip, or announce one you've organized yourself.

Safety Festival - Bruce County - May 6, 2010

2nd ANNUAL SAFETY FESTIVAL
THURSDAY, MAY 6, 2010
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Saugeen Shores Community Complex
600 Tomlinson Drive - Port Elgin, Ontario

Bruce Safe Communities, Bruce Power and the Town of Saugeen Shores are pleased to be hosting their 2nd Annual Safety Festival on May 6th, 2010. Your children are invited to experience SAFETY in a fun and interactive environment - participating in hands-on demonstrations and displays. Last year's Festival attracted 785 students from 15 schools and approximately 1000 residents. Thirty-five partners representing Police, Fire, Emergency Services, Ambulance, Red Cross, Farm Safety, Workplace Safety, Road Safety etc. provided interactive safety demonstrations to the participants. Feedback from partners and participants was extremely positive.

This year's Festival will be open to the General Public, however our main focus is students Grade 4 & up. To assist our partners in planning their demonstrations, we are requesting that Student Registration Forms be completed and emailed or faxed to Linnea Catalan. Please include an email address in order for us to provide you with up to date information prior to the Festival. We look forward to seeing you at this year's Safety Festival.
