Members of the OFTP receive our bi-monthly newsletter, HOME RULES.
It's full of articles by members, reprints from other publications, homeschooling
news tidbits, recommended books, links to online resources, and more.
Contributions are always welcome! Here are some general guidelines about
all types of submissions:
- For commercial resources (any product or service for
which payment is required), your submission must be a paid
ad (see the guidelines).
- For free resources, please send
a hype-free, informative description. It could be as simple as a single
sentence, including a way to access the resource (website URL, email address,
postal address, as applicable).
- For events, please send
an informative description (including an indication of the ways in which
homeschoolers are accommodated, if it is not specifically for homeschoolers).
It can be the same text as your flyer or press release.
- For articles, reviews, stories, poems, or artwork, please
send
your document and a byline. An article must not include marketing for any
products or services you provide. Your byline is where your business can
be mentioned, with a link but without marketing hype.
- For all submissions, illustrative images are welcome.
It must be print quality so as to render clearly in our print version. For
photos, please ensure that you have permission from anyone who is visible
in the photo, unless it is taken at a public event. For photography, artwork,
or graphics, please ensure you have copyright permission. In all cases,
please communicate what the permissions status is. Thank you for your co-operation.
